St Andrews Anniversary Golf Medal

ENQUIRY

University of St Andrews celebrated 600 years in 2013. Part of the celebrations included a golf tournament involving three courses – including the world-famous Old Course – golf professionals, and amateurs players from around the world. The client’s desire was to present a suitable prestigious medal to the competitors of the tournament.

ACTION

In listening to the client’s needs it was clear a proposal was required to include a substantial sized medal attached to a ribbon set in a luxurious presentation case. The client wished to incorporate the traditions of the 600 years within the medal design and finish. Our design team proposed the inclusion of the complex and detailed seal of the University of St Andrews on the obverse side. The reverse would depict the detail of this special event including a mini crest and event logo. The final product would be produced in bronze with an antique finish to reflect the history of the University.
